Moving Tips
Here are some moving tips that you
may find helpful. There are two major factors to consider when
planning a move:
1. Schedule your move in advance-
while we welcome last minute or emergency calls based upon availability,
it is highly recommended that you schedule your moving date as
far in advance as possible. Keep in mind that weekends and the
last two weeks of each month are the busiest times for most movers. Some of our repeat customers book their moving date one or two months in advance.
2. Allow some flexibility - between
your moving date and the date that you must be out of your present
location, in case of adverse weather conditions and (or) other
unforeseen circumstances that may arise at the last minute.
The rule-of-thumb for packing:
• basically everything that is not
a large appliance or furniture must be packed or crated as needed
for safe transportation. All boxes must be taped both
bottom and top.
• smaller boxes are great for heavy
articles, such as books, canned goods, desk & file cabinet
contents - etc...,
• use professional "dishpack"
moving boxes for your coffee cups, plates, glassware, other dishes
etc...,
• meduim boxes can be used for your
lighter articles like pots and pans, coffeemaker, blender, toaster
etc...,
• large boxes can be used for your
comforter, blankets, towels, hats, stuffed animals, lampshades
etc...,
• professional wardrobes boxes are
an excellent choice for all your hanging garments & you may
pack your pillows at the bottom of the boxes etc...,
• most movers are not allowed to
transport combustibles, explosives, nor flammable items. Including
but not limited to: gasoline, paint, oil, propane fuel, fertilizers,
insecticides, herbicides, cleaning supplies, liquids, ammunitions,
firearms, or any item deemed illegal by any law etc...
